Welcome to KLS Reviews
Hello fellow reader, I’m Kelsey and I’m so glad you’re here.
This is my cozy, spoiler-aware corner of the internet where we talk about books like friends: clear, candid, and useful. I lean towards romance & fantasy (slow-burns, morally grey chaos, and found family), with the occasional detour when a story won’t let go.

A Little Bit About Me
I’m a Denver-based reviewer with a journalism background. One of my very first jobs in high school was as a library assistant. I worked there throughout high school and college and fell in love with the worlds created. Whether reading Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, thrillers by David Baldacci, legal dramas by John Grisham, or binging the Princess Diaries series by Meg Cabot, and summer reads by Sarah Dessen, reading provided an escape from the challenges of high school and college. During my senior year of college I interned with a local newspaper and had attempted a book review column, but nothing came from it in the long term.
After college, life got in the way and I stopped reading. I was more focused on my work and finding my place in the world. In 2025 I rekindled my love for reading by reading Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros, a Colorado-based author. I saw the hype on TikTok and one day I decided to download the books on my Kindle. Let’s just say that the hype was warranted and it ended up with me binging the series multiple times before moving onto Sarah Maas’s A Court of Thrones and Roses series - a series recommended to me by one of my cousin-in-laws - which I also binged. After I finished those series, I kept chasing the high I got from those books and it led me to reading 200+ books this year alone. Some of them were amazing, some of them I should have passed, some of them still live rent-free in my mind.
One thing that has been part of my mantra in life, is I’ll try anything once and that includes books. I tend to be a very quick reader, but I always annotate parts that stood out to me while reading the book reviewed. One of my absolute favorite books I’ve read this year that I still can’t get out of my mind is Under Your Scars by Ariel N. Anderson. (A review for this book WILL be coming)
Whether you’re new to reading, looking for your next book to add to your TBR list, or are just looking for an authentic review from a reader who loves books, then this blog is for you.
What’s to Come
This blog is new, but coming up will be: launch day reviews, bite-size roundups; and the occasional deep dive into favorite tropes (enemies-to-loves who actually earn it is one of my favorites).
